«La vida Loca» killed Christian POVEDA

Christian POVEDA attended the 23th edition of the Scoop Festival in Angers at the same time as he was showing the premier of his film "LA VIDA LOCA" dealing with "gang warfare" in El Salvador ; he paid with his life for just doing his job as a committed journalist.
He was a photojournalist in the 1980's in the heart of civil war in latin America and like Manon LOIZEAU and Tchetchenya he kept the memory of El Salvador that had become an obsession. Up to his neck in the life of those gangs of society's desperados tattooed for eternity for their gang, he filmed with such a sense of closeness wile ariding any distorsion, and he endeavoured to show through this exceptional film all the action of that real scenario which had never before been brought to light.

As Alain MINGAN said he maid documentaries like SCORCESE, always at the right place at the right time, ready to cpature the pieces of human soul.

During prestigious evening gala, The SCOOP Festival in Angers paid a atribute to him and awarded him the medal of honour of the 29th november 2008 Festival.

It's with great enthusiasm that the President of "France Television" Patrick de CAROLIS accepted to be the honorary President of Angers Scoop Festival, succeeding Edward BEHR who died in may 2007 and who, for many years had shown great interest in this cultural event.

The relationship between Patrick de CAROLIS and the Scoop is quite old since it dates back to TV5 and the "Reporters" programm wich was awarded a price in Angers for an exceptionnal document, shot in Poland, relating the way father POPIELUSCKO had been tortured to death ; it went on and developped when Patrick de CAROLIS presided over the FEstival jury in 1998 at the same time as he was showing his programm "Des Racines et des Ailes" live from the Scoop in Angers ; this was also the case in 1999 and 2000 shooting exceptionnaly from Jean LURCAT Museum.
He became the president of "FRANCE TELEVISION" in 2005 but still remains very attentive to the progress of the event and be assured Alain LEBOUC he'd come and take part in future editions.
